9. San Fransisco
When a person thinks of San Francisco, a giant International Orange-colored bridge, a park spanning more than 1,000 acres or a city where contemporary art and culture collide often come to mind. While these mainstays never lose their luster, the reasons to visit San Francisco are even more numerous. Crammed with top-notch restaurants, artisanal coffee shops, sidewalk cafés, unusual and excellent museums, pocket gardens, hidden stairways, and eclectic shops, the city invites exploration. Alcatraz, the notorious former prison, is located on an island of the same name in the middle of San Francisco Bay.
10. Maui Hawaii
There are so many things to do on Maui it can often seem overwhelming. Maui’s various attractions and activities cater to just about every interest. While adventurers hike the dormant Haleakala volcano, more relaxed travelers can soak up the sun on one of many different beaches or test the fairways at one of Maui’s 14 golf courses.
