Thingbaijam Sarita Devi
This 34-year-old(born on February 1, 1986 in Manipur) female bodybuilder is the country’s first woman to win the National Bodybuilding Championship for three consecutive years. Sarita Devi’s family encouraged her to participate in the sporting events as well as in bodybuilding after realizing her potential. In 2014, Sarita represented India at the Asian Championship held in Macau, China and ranked fifth.
Yashmeen Chauhan is one of the most famous female bodybuilders in India and is a dance choreographer, a fitness trainer and a gym owner. Her real name is Yashmeen Chauhan Manak, born on 21st March 1979 in Delhi and she enters to the bodybuilding since the age of 17. Moreover, Yashmeen won many awards including Gladrags Mrs. India Best Body Award(2005) and IFBB Miss India(2016).
Kiran Dembla is a 45-year-old fitness trainer for celebrities such as Tamannaah and Anushka Shetty. She has represented India at the World Bodybuilding Championship in 2013 and secured the sixth rank. This brave lady is not only a bodybuilder but also a Disco Jockey (DJ) and mountaineer, trekked to the Mount Everest base camp thrice.
This 32-year-old lady is the India’s first female competitive bodybuilder and she achieved fifth position in her first event in December 2014. Ashwini was a senior staff at the Central Institute of Fisheries Education, but she quit her full-time job to concentrate on bodybuilding competitions.
Yumnam Mamota Devi
Borun and Mamota Devi Yumnam from New Delhi, the first Indian couple to win medals in international bodybuilding championships. Borun started his career 20 years ago, but Mamota Devi began her bodybuilding career in 2012 after having three children. This couple won 28 awards between them as well as they train younger athletes and bodybuilders.
The first Indian female who won the medal in World Championship(won bronze medal in 2014 at 6th WBPF World Championship). Shweta runs her own company called SR Production and Fitness Forever.
